Yucca Valley City Council Meeting

They will discuss a dispensary ban in Yucca Valley, and will have support for the ban present. We need YOU to show up to oppose it. Here is a note from a local collective operator.
“Our organization was founded by several members within the professional community. I was one of the members and I was until very recently an active San Bernardino county probation officer.
In opening our collective we received all the permits and licenses we needed. We offered several items and services, all of which deal with alternative health care and supplements. The town did not have any specific regulations regarding medical cannabis and we received our permit under "homeopathic/herbal remedies".
As our existence became known, we had several law enforcement contacts - all of which were peaceful and productive. We contacted Captain Miller at the local Sheriff’s station for the high desert and he in turn went to the San Bernardino County attorneys, narcotics and the Yucca Valley attorneys. We provided him the information about our business and its policies. He said as long as we follow the guidelines, we were legal and would not be bothered.
Now the town of Yucca Valley will hold a meeting, not to debate on the legality of the issue, but that we present an immediate danger to the health and safety of the general public. Further, they do not have any zoning regulations and need time to develop these. They base their conclusions on the examples of robberies and other crimes of dispensaries in other large cities. They state that we will attract a negative and criminal element that places the public at large in danger.
Now the town wants to enact a moratorium to stop new and EXISTING business from distributing medical marijuana on the basis that it may be unsafe or harmful to the public to have a dispensary in operation. They are holding a meeting this Thursday at 6pm in the Yucca Valley Community Center. We need everyone’s support to voice their support.”
