Unit D Needs Your Support
| By Wheels of Mercy | Published February 15, 2009 |
’m writing because you signed up at Unit D to lend your support to one of our collective members in need of help.
The person who needs our help is Joe.
In December, while driving home with the collective’s medicine Joe was pulled over by a Riverside County Sherriff. With what the officer believed was probable cause Joe’s truck was searched and the collective’s medicine was seized, and Joe was charged with 3 felonies.
The Riverside District Attorney is prosecuting Joe like a common drug dealer, ignoring both the evidence and Joe’s claims that he is part of a legitimate medical marijuana collective.
There are two ways you can help.
The first way you can help is to write a letter that Joe’s attorney can use to demonstrate that he is part of legitimate medical marijuana collective. The second way you can help is to show up at court in Riverside County when Joe has trial dates.
It’s going to be a lot easier for most of us to write a letter than to be in Riverside at 8:30 in the morning, so please know that we are grateful for whatever support you can give.
To make it easy I have attached a letter template for you to use. Just replace “John Doe” at the top and bottom of the letter with your name, print and sign it, and drop it off at Unit D.
If you think you might be able to be in Riverside for Joe’s court dates, let me know so I can keep you posted.
If you have any questions you can reach me at the number below.
Thank you,

Sample letter for Unit D:
Date
Riverside County District Attorney
4075 Main Street
Riverside, CA 92501
To Whom It May Concern;
I am a medical marijuana patient in full compliance with California's Compassionate Use laws and a member of the Unit D Patient's Collective .
As manager of our collective, Joe Grumbine is responsible for the safety and security of our medication during the hours in which our collective is closed.
The medical marijuana confiscated from Mr. Grumbine was the property of our collective and represents the medication for hundreds of patients.
It is my hope that The County of Riverside will follow both the word and spirit of California's Compassionate Use laws and drop all charges against Mr. Grumbine and return our medication.
Respectfully,
