December 17, 2008 Palm Springs ASA Meeting
Landers ASA Affiliate MAPP meeting.
At this meeting we be discussing the absolutely bizarre position taken by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. that Departmental Memorandum #06-053 issued on May 1, 2006 was just a draft and was never finalized. Memorandum #06-053 specifically instructs police officers that if they come upon a medical marijuana patient and if they have the state issued ID card and the quantity of marijuana in their possession and under cultivation does not exceed the state minimums, then they are not to be arrested and their medicine is not to be confiscated.

Guest speaker, will be Sarah Lovering, southern California organizer for the Marijuana Policy Project. MPP is one of the most active cannabis reform organizations in the nation responsible for many state ballot initiatives to legalize medical cannabis. They have worked extensively in congress especially on legislation to end the DEA raids on medical cannabis patients and providers.
